Itinerary

Edfu and Kom Ombo Temple

Kom Ombo Temple

On the banks of the Nile stands the Temple of Kom Ombo from the Ptolemaic period. It is a unique temple, the only double temple in ancient Egypt, where the falcon of Horus and God Sobek is the Temple of Kom Ombo in Egypt. Of great importance because it is one of the most important sanctuaries of the Pharaonic era dedicated to Sobek. According to some legends, this crocodile-headed deity was the god of the Nile and the creator of the whole world.

Edfu Temple

Edfu temple is dedicated to the god Horus, considered one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. The most important after the Karnak Temple of Edfu, was hidden under the sand for centuries until it was rediscovered by the French archaeologist Auguste Mariette in the mid-19th century.
