History:

Lake Qarun in Egypt may be the most unusual place where the desert meets a body of water. Ships can sail between the sandbanks of the lake, and Lake Qarun is also called Lake Qarun.

On both sides of the lake are dry hills, and you can see how massive the Western Desert is in the distance. In the distance, you can see a lot of fishing boats bobbing in the lake.

Al-Baraka, or “the pond,” as the locals call it, is the lake’s name as it is written in English. Fayoum believes it was named after a man in the Qur’an who was punished for his joy in his wealth and that the earth would swallow him up. However, the name could come from a horn-shaped crest on an island in the middle of the water body.

A lake is famous for swimming because it stays temperate all year round, making it possible to swim any month. But swimming is not recommended from January to April when it is hot and rainy.
